Overview
Overview of Polytechnic Forum
Originating in 1996, the annual Polytechnic Forum has been a key platform for polytechnic students to deepen their understanding of national issues through meaningful discussions, learning journeys, and engagements with government and industry leaders. Each year, 500 student leaders from across the five polytechnics gather to embrace their roles as young Singaporeans and contribute ideas to shape the nation’s future.
Since 2023, the Polytechnic Forum has been part of the Singapore Young Leaders’ Programme, a Ministry of Education (MOE) initiative for student leaders in Institutes of Higher Learning, launched during the Lee Kuan Yew memorial celebrations. The programme aims to strengthen students’ understanding of Singapore’s governance and nurture a strong sense of active citizenship and leadership.
In 2026, Ngee Ann Polytechnic will host the Polytechnic Forum, bringing together 500 students for a five-day programme from 14 to 18 September.
The Polytechnic Forum 2026 continues to serve as a platform for students to engage in thoughtful discussions, reflect on key societal issues, and co-create ideas for Singapore’s future. Through dialogue and collaboration, students are empowered to take ownership, contribute diverse perspectives, and play an active role in building a more inclusive, resilient, and forward-looking Singapore.
